Today's workout was a 2 mile warm-up, 3 fast miles followed up with 2 cool down miles. Overall the workout was good but not as fast as I would have wished. My legs were still just a little fatigued from Saturday's 20 mile effort. Even with that though I still was able to nail 3 goal pace miles pretty easily at 6:41, 6:41, 6:40 for the harder effort miles. Overall workout the average pace per mile was 7:12 for the 7 miles which is pretty darn good for me after Saturday's workout.

8:14, 7:40, 6:41, 6:41, 6:40, 7:15, 7:12

I squeezed 5 miles in over my lunch break today since it was storming and hailing this morning during my usual runing time. Therefore I did not really get the complete workout in that I was expecting but I still ran some good miles. Workout was suppose to be 3 goal pace miles like I ended up doing on Tuesday. Todu's miles ended up being 7:27, 7:06, 6:54, 6:52, 6:51 for an average overall pace per mile of 7:02. Felt strong even though it was sunny and in the mid 60's for temps. I think my marathon time is going to be completely dependent on weather and it could be a PR or it could be just a fun run. We'll see what the weather has instore for us.

14 easier miles this weekend compared to last weekends 20 miler. This weeks run consisted of 5 goal pace miles in the middle of the run between between 6:40 & 6:46 which if I average the high end it would put me in the 2:57:30 range which would be awsome at Boston.  Total average pace for the run was 7:14/mi. Miles went like this:

8:44, 7:54, 7:30, 7:22, 7:01, 7:07, 6:42, 6:46, 6:40, 6:41, 6:45, 7:19, 7:21, 7:25

Overall the pace felt pretty comfortable and we made some final descisions on how we were going to tackle Boston. Drake is going to come back and start with me and the pace is going to be 6:40-6:46 for the first 16 miles then we will see how we're feeling and everyone can do their own thing. Brian didn't even make it to the run his shins are bothering him and he's been battling hamy and back issues so he's going to try a stick with us but we'll see how that goes. Brian has also ran 2:53 before so my pace will be easier for him. There is also another fast guy that wants to join us at the begining and try sticking with us so that means I currently have a 4 man pace group to keep us honest and on pace for over half of the race. They have all ran Boston before and preach about conserving at the start so we'll see if they can practise what they preach or I'll have to beat them down!
